Facebook / Twitter - There have recently been some rather unsavoury postings using social media (not by this club please note) that were discussed at a recent WDCU Exec meeting and as such all clubs will be subject to a WDCU website warning regarding such postings. Please note that as a club we are responsible for any untoward Twitter or Facebook postings and could be held accountable for the actions of any of our members.
Could all players, senior and junior, please pay your subs as soon as you can. Subscription income is a major part of our revenue and helps the club cover its costs and pay for equipment etc that benefits all players. It is also fair on everyone if every player pays. **NEW GROUND***
Address: Scott Ellis Recreation Ground, New Mill Rd, Kilmarnock KA1 UK
After almost two years of planning and working with our partners at East Ayrshire Council Leisure and Recreation Department Kilmarnock CC is ready to take ownership and move in to our new ground at Scott Ellis.
The council cleared the site which was the old, ash running track and a football pitch and its contractors under the guidance of Alan Simpson who laid the square, created our fenced in cricket ground.
With the help of grants from Cricket Scotland Development Trust, the Lords Taverners, Awards for All, Local Community Fund and Sportscotland as well as personal donations we are able to fund the purchase of nets, an artificial pitch, sightscreens and possibly covers. The nets and artificial pitch will be installed in mid May.
Although the first home match against Glasgow Accies in the Western Cup is scheduled for May 5th we propose to have an ‘Opening Day’ on Sat 9th June before the game with Irvine.
We will invite guests and hope that as many members, friends and the general public will attend.
The day before, on the 8th the club will be actively involved in the Olympic Torch Relay event hosted by East Ayrshire with 400 children taking part in various sports based around the new Ayrshire Athletics Arena and our ground.
Our website is primarily for you the members and friends of Kilmarnock Cricket Club. If you have news, articles or information to share please contact someone at the club via the contacts page. If you feel the website is missing anything that you wish to see contact us also.
