Kilmarnock Cricket Club

Hi, welcome to the website for Kilmarnock Cricket Club. More information will be added over the next few weeks, and as the season progresses, we will add match reports, results, league tables and averages. As such, no offence is intended to any third party.

Please click on the image below to view more photos of our slightly damp pitch during the winter break. Much more rain, and it will be like this again soon.....

We would welcome any form of sponsorship, from a one off match ball to a full season or sponsorship of this site. If this is something your organisation would be interested in please contact a member of the committee, or see the contacts page. Naturally, we will ensure any sponsor receives exposure on this site.

The Kilmarnock CC Awards evening was held on Saturday the 22nd November at the Park Suite (Rugby Park). Amongst other things, awards were given for the best bowler and batsman for the 1st XI, 2nd XI, Under 18s and Under 15s. The awards were as follows: First XI best batsman S Weir (304 runs, ave 43.43); best bowler Z Pasha (24 wkts, ave 8.21). Second XI best batsman Z Saaed; best bowler D Nimbley. Under 18 best batsman D Hamilton (174 runs, ave 43.50); best bowler C Sharpe (11 wkts, ave 12.55). Under 15 best batsman C Marshman (121 runs, ave 17.29); best bowler O Raine (14 wkts, ave 7.86). While there was disappointment that the seniors missed promotion, there are positives to be taken into next year. A recurring theme from the junior season reviews was that all Junior teams have fairly strong bowling attacks but are slightly let down to an extent by their batting. Hopefully the respective coaches will be able to rectify this for next season. The main positive is that again next season we will be fielding 5 teams which bodes well for the club's future. Thanks to all who turned up and supported the evening and made it a big success, and also thanks to those that supplied prizes for the raffle.

Please go to Senior News for an account of our now annual Sportsman's Dinner, held on the 29th May. This proved even more successful than last year with around £2,000 being raised for the club and just as important was enjoyed by all who attended.

I would like to thank everyone who compiled a team(s) for the fantasy cricket competition. We sold 60 teams which as you can tell brought in £300, half of which goes to prizes and the other £150 goes towards purchasing new equipment for the junior section of our club. To those of you who filled out more than one team, or sold teams to friends, family and work colleagues I thank you very much. If you follow the links you will be able to see the final points for all the players who competed in the tournament and the winners and scores for those who entered teams into this competition. The first, second and third placed people have had their teams printed also. At the bottom of the winners and scores page you will also find a team compiled of the tournamnets top players for each category and amazingly this team comes in under budget! Congradulations to Richard Laidlaw for winning the competition, George Smith for coming second and Jim Orr for placing third. Richards team was one of the lucky dips made up and sold at our Sportsman's Dinner, so I am betting he won't be complaining about digging into his pocket for that fiver now!! George had entered two teams, one of which came second and the other third last!! I wonder which one he thought would do best?! Jim Orr's team was selected by Jon Raine as a favour to his boss, so I bet he is kicking himself that his team wasn't as strong! Once again I just want to say thanks to everyone who has made this competition worth while. By Tom McFadzean. (Please bear with me until the stats are published - website wizard is in France)
